FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PORTLAND, Ore. (April 10, 2012) – The Umpqua Bank Challenge today announced that PGA TOUR professional Kyle Stanley has been confirmed for the 2012 main field.
Stanley, a native of Gig Harbor, Wash., joined the PGA TOUR in 2009 and earned his first victory earlier this year at the 2012 Waste Management Phoenix Open. Stanley’s victory followed a playoff loss to Brandt Snedeker at the previous week’s Farmer’s Insurance Open.

“I’m really excited to have Kyle play in this year’s Umpqua Bank Challenge,” said Jacobsen. “He’s a great young player who has shown that he has the ability to win on TOUR as well as the guts and the heart to shake off the negatives that come with the game.”
With nearly $2 million in earnings so far this year, Stanley is currently sitting in 7th place on the official PGA TOUR money list. Ranked 50th in the world, Stanley also holds the sixth and ninth place spots on the 2012 FedExCup points and 2012 U.S. Ryder Cup points lists, respectively.
“I'm looking forward to coming out to Portland this August for the Umpqua Bank Challenge,” said Stanley. "Giving back to local communities is so important, and I'm happy to be able to support Peter and this event – and have fun at the same time!”

This year’s main field of twelve will include an exciting mix of PGA TOUR and Champions Tour professionals, up-and-comers and entertainers. Field announcements are planned throughout this upcoming spring and summer.
Registration for the 2012 Umpqua Bank Challenge volunteer program opened March 1. The 2011 volunteer program sold out early, and several committees are already full for 2012.
